Thank you for joining me today for this 20 minute guided meditation practice to cultivate compassion for yourself and others.
The definition of compassion according to the Merriam Webster dictionary is the sympathetic consciousness of others’ distress together with a desire to alleviate it.
Breathe deeply, connect with the feelings of your heart, and build compassion.
Wishes of compassion:
- Just like me, everyone is seeking happiness. May we all find the happiness we are seeking.
- Just like me, everyone is protecting themselves from suffering. May we all be brave and strong enough to make space for our suffering.
- Just like me, everyone has known sadness. May we all experience love and joy to balance the sadness.
- Just like me, everyone is doing the best they can. May we all offer compassion to ourselves and others. May we all accept compassion from ourselves and others.
Mindful Tip for Practicing Compassion:
Check out this Mindful Tip about practicing compassion for yourself and for others. Often times when we interact with other people, we can lose sight of where the other person is coming from. We can perceive an experience different than they are intended. Les gives you some tips and reminders to implement today. Ask yourself, “what’s it like for that person?”
