Iโ€™m so grateful for the health of my baby boy and part of why that gratitude is so deep is because my mom died of cancer a few years ago and being in the hospital with my son (who is just fine) brought so much of that back. Iโ€™m not grateful she died, obviously, but Iโ€™m grateful that one of the gifts she gave me in her dying was an appreciation for when the worst case scenario does NOT happen; when they take scans and run tests and do NOT find the absolute nightmare. Itโ€™s not an easy thanks, but itโ€™s deeply set and I appreciate your helping me find it!
