In this episode, Les chats with Dr Paul Saladino about the potentially misguided beliefs about the use of plants for food and the inappropriate vilification of animals as a food source. This topic can be polarizing for some folks, and it also can be truly eye opening. Being able to dissolve our current beliefs and make space for new ideas may allow us to break through to new levels of well being.

Dr. Saladino is the leading authority on the science and application of the carnivore diet. He has used this diet to reverse autoimmune issues, chronic inflammation, and mental health issues in hundreds of patients, many of whom had been told their conditions were untreatable. He is the host of the popular Fundamental Health podcast and the author of the bestselling book, The Carnivore Code ( Dr. Saladino is board certified as a Physician Nutrition Specialist and in psychiatry and completed residency at the University of Washington. He lives in Austin, TX, and can frequently be found exploring wild places when he is not writing, researching, or working with clients.

    Thank you for this podcast. Very informative. It leaves a lot to think about and you asked very good questions, Les. I appreciate that. Both you and Dr. Saladino are very knowledgeable. I look forward to reading his book. I had just asked a friend of mine if she thought I could be having a reaction to LETTUCE of all things! I’ve love salads and have eaten them in abundance all my life. But I’ve noticed after eating them the last year or so I tend to not feel great. So, I it sounds like the salad/veggies and dressing may all be adding up to stomach bloating! I was vegan for 2 years and loved how I felt. All my little aches and pains went away. But, I gained a lot of weight and I have low iron, vitamins D and B12; and my zinc was almost depleted…per tests from my doctor because I lacked energy and got odd spots all over my body. Three doctors, I was told I had to eat “rare” red meat! Something I hate…medium well is ok but not rare! Anyway, I went back to meat. Now it sounds like I should try the organs…I like liver and the gizzards you get with poultry, never had the others…might just opt for the supplements!! Thanks to Dr. Saladino. Keep up the great work to You and Sara.
