How To Build Confidence (without dying of embarrassment or fear)

Hi! It’s Sara here.  I’m so glad you’re here. And I wonder if you found me because you feel “stuck.”

Years ago, I sought out meditation and hypnotherapy to understand myself more clearly, so I could regain lost confidence. (It seems we end up teaching that which we most wanted to know, yes?)

I believe the vast majority of us are born with unlimited confidence.  In my personal meditation and hypnotherapy journey, I realized that our lack of confidence stems precisely from any limiting and negative beliefs and messages in our minds. Many of these messages have been constructed as children and young adults–and can stick with us for decades.  Only when we recognize and understand the origins of those limiting (and outdated) beliefs can we change them and regain our confidence.

The Benefits of Changing Our Beliefs

When we can change our beliefs, the way becomes clear to build our self-confidence, a baby step at a time. We learn to replace critical foundational beliefs with ones that offer more choices, courage, and agency. 

These belief shifts are what I teach in my hypnotherapy practice, and I invite you to join me so that you can open your life to less anxiety and overwhelm, and more focus and confidence.

Here’s how you know when a limiting or critical belief has you stuck (they live in our bodies and create some of the following responses to scary-for-us situations):

  • You find you deeply want to change a long-time repeating pattern of behavior in your life and feel there is something unconsciously sabotaging you from within.
  • Your palms and armpits sweat and you feel dizzy when you have to speak at the next work meeting–you lose sleep for days before the actual presentation thinking you’ll fail, look stupid, or embarrass yourself.
  • Your throat dries out and tightens up when it’s time to speak up in a relationship disagreement–the pain of the status quo is worth it if you can just stay quiet and avoid confrontation
  • You long for adventure and newness in your life, but feel paralyzed and terrified when the opportunities arise–you say “no” out of fear, overwhelm, or anxiety when you want to say “yes.”

These are just *some* of the ways our lack of confidence can keep us small, stuck, and defeated. If you’re here, it may be time to choose an alternative.
