If you love setting New Year’s resolutions with meticulous care—creating the “perfect” vision board, drafting the ultimate plan for success, or tackling a long list of self-improvement goals with determination—CHEERS to you!

There is absolutely nothing wrong with dreaming big, striving for meaningful change, and creating a thoughtful vision for the year ahead.

AND…if this New Year’s rush also leaves you feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, or “less than” when things don’t go perfectly as planned, we can (and maybe should) explore where this desire for perfection really comes from.

I wrote my book, "You Are Not Broken," for people like us (myself included) who have felt (or still feel) a relentless need to live up to impossible standards—whether they’re our own or someone else’s.

This book opens the door to releasing the critical voices in our heads that often drive feelings of guilt, inadequacy, or not-enoughness as we strive to be the “perfect” version of ourselves. It offers a new way to approach growth—one rooted in self-compassion, not self-criticism.

Instead of chasing perfection, what if this could be the year you embrace the amazing person you already are? What if your goals and intentions were guided by the belief that you are inherently worthy and whole, not something that needs “fixing”?

Resolutions That Feed You, Not Deplete You

The start of a new year can be a tricky time for those of us who struggle with perfectionism or comparison-itis. It’s easy to feel like everyone else is doing better, achieving more, or somehow “winning” at life while you’re just trying to keep up.

But what if this year, you gave yourself permission to set goals and intentions that nourish you, not drain you? What if your focus shifted from doing more to simply being more aligned with your authentic self?

"You Are Not Broken" offers tools and insights to help you settle into the life you want—not the life someone else thinks is “right” for you. It invites you to redefine success on your terms, build habits that feel good, and quiet the voices that tell you you’re not enough.

We begin, as always, with the premise that you already have everything you need inside you. There is nothing to “fix.” Peace, contentment, and satisfaction are all remarkably possible when you’re willing to look within and quiet the voices that insist you’re broken or deficient.

Because, you’re not. You’re whole and beautiful and capable of creating a life that feels deeply satisfying—not for anyone else’s approval, but for your own.

Let’s Start the Year with Self-Compassion

As we start the new year, it’s tempting to be swept up by the noise of “Big Wellness.” The promises of miracle cures, the latest fitness gadgets, and quick fixes are everywhere, all designed to convince you that something is missing—that you aren’t enough just as you are. But here’s the truth: wellness isn’t found in a bottle, a fad diet, or a must-have gadget. Real well-being starts from within, and it requires a thoughtful, sustainable approach.

The wellness industry often preys on insecurity and shame, suggesting that you need to be “better” or “new” to thrive. This year, I invite you to resist that message entirely! What if, instead of striving to become someone different, you embraced the amazing person you already are? What if you focused on building habits that nourish you, honoring your body and mind even amidst challenges?

My hope is that this year isn’t about reinventing yourself; it’s about rediscovering yourself. It’s about living well by rejecting the pressure to chase perfection and choosing self-care over self-criticism. It’s about finding joy in the journey, not just the destination. When you choose to approach the new year from a place of worthiness, you’re not only supporting your well-being but creating a life that reflects your authentic self.

If you’re ready to approach the New Year with a gentler, more self-compassionate mindset, grab your copy of "You Are Not Broken". This book will guide you through the process of embracing your inherent worthiness while making meaningful, sustainable changes in your life.

Bonus: Over the next few months, I’ll be releasing a series of meditative processes inspired by "You Are Not Broken" to support your journey. These guided practices are designed to help you shift your mindset, release self-doubt, and embody your true self:

Together, let’s make this the year you say goodbye to perfectionism and embrace the truth: You are enough, just as you are.

Calmly,
Sara
