The Self-Help industry is a big one. Lots of books for sale (like mine, let’s be honest), coaches offering self-improvement programs, and methods to become “better” than who we are now.

The problem is NOT with the material or most of the practitioners. There are tons of sincere, helpful humans and resources out there to help us fill the gaps in our lives and enjoy abundance and love at every age and stage.

What’s crucial to understand as we navigate self-help resources and work to change our lives is that We. Are. Already. Enough.

There is nothing we need to do, accomplish, achieve, or change to be worthy of love and acceptance and belonging.

Even when you’re broke. Even when you’ve made mistakes or can’t seem to find healthy relationships, or are struggling with addiction or other behaviors that don’t get you where you’d like to go in life.

Even if you feel you’ve harmed other humans or someone tells you you are not worthy to take up space, feel your feelings, or shed your shame and guilt.

The self-help industry works well when we understand this inherent truth. This is part of the reason I wrote my new book You Are Not Broken. It’s a deep dive into what helped you become who you are, and how to gently shift the messages inside you that may hold you back from everything you want to be.

I use the practice of hypnotherapy to help you learn about yourself and uncover what blocks you from feeling good most of the time. Then we start to transform those parts that are exhausted, scared, and anxious into nourished, resourced, healed, calm parts.  We begin in my book.

Believe it or not, it’s paramount to THANK those behaviors and messages that got you this far. Their only purpose was to keep you feeling safe and protected, so that you could function in your family, culture, religion, social group, or any other circumstance over which you had no control.

Knowing that NO part of you is wasted or useless, and that ALL parts of you are valuable and purposeful, it finally becomes possible to evolve your life into a place where you find satisfaction, contentment, calm, and peace.

You can order your copy of You Are Not Broken by clicking the title anywhere in this post.

Bonus: During the next few months, I’ll be publishing a series of meditative processes inspired by and supportive of the book, You Are Not Broken. Let’s find peace and joy together and sustain it all year long.

Remember, your most enjoyable, abundant self is already inside you and has been forever. It’s just a matter of helping them feel safe and secure enough to come out into the light.

In peace and joy,

Sara
